Woven Study

A woven sample exploring ways to extend the versatility of a simple straight draft on an 8-shaft loom.
I combined traditional weaving patterns, Orimono Soshiki Hen and an Undulating Twill, and used the same yarns for both warp and weft.
By changing the colours in my warp to take advantage of the repeats of a straight draft pattern, and switching weft colours and patterns, I was able to achieve interrupted/disrupted patterns within a single woven piece – traditional yet graphical.
