Personal Design Manifesto

A physical representation of my interests and positionality as a textile designer.
I represented my passion for reducing textile waste by rescuing a discarded warp from a friend and knit it into a shawl.

Detangling as I went, I first wound the yarn onto an empty cone joining the warp ends with a simple knot – these joins highlighted the yarns origins. The warp consisted of cotton, linen and wool yarns and so I designed a stitch pattern combination that would work well with the different fibre properties (namely their elasticity) and weights.
